FORMOSA ORCHID
lambskin, hand seamed, cotton, acrylic paint, meat hook, 2016
Formosa Orchid draws inspiration from the traumatic experiences endured by Taiwanese women during and after the Second World War. Bearing the invisible traces of violence throughout their lives, these women carried memories that often remained unspoken. Through this series, I investigate the nature of trauma, the complexities of revealing what has long been silenced, and the organic ways in which memory becomes embedded within both the body and the psyche.
